Dev Blog #4

Hey guys!

I have another dev blog! 😀

Today i am going to talk a little bit about tonemaps, Volumetric light, clouds and water shaders

2016-05-02_16.21.34

You can see that the overal colors are a lot more saturated. And the fog is a lot more dense then before.

Also i have improved the stability and the look of volumetric light. It runs a lot more better and also look more better.

I also did an improvement on the clouds. They look a lot more fluffier and they are more noticable.

Also i made it so the water depth and caustics are refracting too. And it gives you a parallax water effect.

Another thing i did is optimizing the length function and removed a lot of uniforms and varyings.
It should run 30% better than 6.0

Well, this sums it up for today.

Thanks for reading,

torches in v6.0 are really really dark could you fix that or maybe tell me what to modify to fix it? thanks

    • robobo1221

i fixed it in the next update :), but if you want to fix it yourself, you can go to composite and higher up TORCH_INTENSITY

      • p0rtalmazter

it worked thank you so much!

        • robobo1221

          No problem! :)

Hey, hate to bother you but how do you turn on rain reflections in version 6? I have reflections in version 5.4, and it looks great, but I can’t get it working in the latest version. My pc is a laptop sporting a gtx 960m and a core i7 4720HQ which is a quad core cpu at 2.6ghz, I useally get 400 fps without shaders and 30ish fps with ultra/extreme shaders

    • robobo1221

Hey! yes that was a big issue with 6.0. You need an adjusted resource pack for that. When 6.1 releases you dont have to have it anymore :). So 6.1 will have rain reflections even without an adjustex resource pack :)

Sounds great then and thanks for the reply! Then can I also can I ask when you could add parallax displacement? I use the following resource pack (http://matteorizzo.me/realistico/) which looks amazing with your resource pack. I talked with the developer of the resource pack and he says only continuum shaders supports the different mapping techniques but your shaders is by far the best and my favorite. Thanks again for the reply and look forward for your next one.

Here is a screenshot without the parallax displacement

Well, i see you are using V5.4. I recommend using 6.0 of wait untill 6.1 comes out. And btw, Parallax displacement is already in my pack. It’s compatible with Chroma hills and all the other POM resourcepacks.

    • robobo1221

Probably around next week or so, I am not sure yet

      • Zaldy12 (Zaldy Macalalad)

What date before Robobo1221’s Shaders V6.1?

        • robobo1221

Not sure yet, i hopefully make a post about it

          • Zaldy12 (Zaldy Macalalad)

Oh OK. What are you waiting for?

          • Zaldy12 (Zaldy Macalalad)

Is MSI Vortex G65 is Compatible with Continuum Shaders, Robobo1221’s Shaders & Resource pack: Realistico Full Version?

          • robobo1221

it has an 980 so yes it is

          • Zaldy12 (Zaldy Macalalad)

How much FPS in GTX 1080 Pascal from Continuum Shaders v1.2.1?

          • robobo1221

Well, i dont know since i dont have that graphics card and i did not see anyone yet having that graphics card and running continuum 1.2.1

          • Zaldy12 (Zaldy Macalalad)
